Built in 2006/07, the retreat offers panoramic views and a real wildlife experience.  Bush walking around the property enables the viewing of many varieties of wildflowers and wildlife. Kangaroos and wallabies can be seen from your balcony early morning or dusk. During the day you can see goannas or echidnas, or enjoy watching the many native birds, ranging from wrens to wedge tailed eagles.

With access to a private beach you will be in awe of the rugged and pristine coastline, perhaps go beach fishing or swimming in the rock pools.
Flour Cask Bay Retreat is ideally situated as a base from which to explore all of Kangaroo Island.
From the retreat you can see for miles, offering wonderful views of sunrises and sunsets. Being far away from the city lights, the skies at night are incredible for stargazing.

The retreat evolved from a passion for the outdoors, a healthy, peaceful lifestyle, the sea air, the wildlife, the sweeping views and a desire to share this lifestyle with others. Dave and Jeannie offer personalised itineraries and will tour guests around the nearby areas. When the organic herb and vegetable gardens are fruiting, guests are invited to help themselves.

Emphasis is on making your stay a real taste of all the good things that Kangaroo Island has to offer. Every endeavour is made to make your stay a time to relax and reinvigorate.
